    Job Description
    Title:    Inventory Specialist                                       
    Department:     Shop Support
    Overview of Position
    Directly supervise the receipt and management of inventory for purchased and manufactured materials. Ensure inventory accuracy goals are met and maintained. Work closely with manufacturing and purchasing to reduce inventory levels and reduce stock outs.
    Description of Duties and Job Responsibilities
    • Manage all aspects of inventory control throughout the facility
    1. Daily inventory processing related to TCM and production
    2. Daily shop support related to inventory processing
    • Kanban Program Support
    1. Set up and maintain existing Kanban card system
    2. Maintain accuracy of Kanban cards and make changes when required. Maximize min/max and levels and re-order quantities.
    3. Replace worn or missing Kanban cards as required
    4. Training of employees on use of Kanban and compliance monitoring
    • Cycle Counting
    1. Weekly cycle counting of seven key commodity groups
    2. Daily cycle count for items purchased from local vendors on a daily basis
    3. Complete counts on time and consistently.
    4. Match cycle counts to TCM and make necessary adjustments
    5. Trouble shoot and make improvements for accuracy in TCM
    • Labels
    • a) Make sure receiving labels are being applied to all incoming raw materials and supplies. Work closely with receiving department to ensure compliance and resolve issues.
    • b) Ensure special order items can be easily identified and located by receiving label so employees do not spend time looking for special items
    • c) Ensure labels on stocking bins and racks are maintained and upgraded as needed.
    • d) Ensure received goods are routed to the proper department or rack location
    • Facilitate and Support companywide physical inventory
    1. Resolve issues with obsolete or slow moving inventory items
    1. Print and disperse inventory labels
    2. Make sure all bins, racks, skids, are properly labeled prior to physical inventory
    • Uses basic computer software such as spreadsheets, databases, word processing applications, email, Internet, ERP system, etc.
    • Assist in 5s implementation as it relates to inventory control
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Two or four year college degree related to manufacturing preferred
    • 1 – 3 years of manufacturing experience in inventory, planning. scheduling, production supervision, buyer, supply chain management or similar team role
    • Solid verbal and written communication
    • Working knowledge of MS Office products
    • Working knowledge of MRP,TCM,SAP or other ERP systems
