    The Assistant/Operations Manager role will consist of, but is not limited to, the following:
    Assist the Store Manager with recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of employees
    Assist the Store Manager by providing feedback for employee performance reviews
    Assist in the managing and implementing in the overall direction of the store
    Assist with ensuring goals are outlined for employees and are met
    Provide excellent customer service and handle incoming calls as needed in a helpful, friendly manner
    Provide input into merchandising decisions to the Store Manager.
    Perform and assist in delegation of daily tasks and solve problems as assigned by the Store Manager
    Manage the daily distribution/delivery schedule
    Assist in the enforcement of company safety policies and procedures
    Assist with managing inventory levels
    Assist in opening/closing the store
    Represent Davis Lumber & Hardware in the community with a positive, professional image
    Set positive example for employees
    Oversee all store operations when the manager is absent
    Commit to continued learning on products, procedures, and more
    Perform other duties as needed, examples not limited to maintaining stocking locations, cycle counting, not-in-stock research
    Ability to direct and train others effectively as a team leader
    Ability to provide excellent customer service and drive sales
    Well developed problem solving abilities and strong decision making skills
    Proficiency in all store technology
    Possess a high level of initiative, drive, and effort towards completing assignments efficiently and accurately
    Ability to communicate information or ideas effectively in written or oral form and if approved, see it through until finished
    Ability to organize, deal with change effectively and in a timely matter, and work on multiple tasks concurrently
    Possess math skills when performing basic operations
    Possess strong communication and telephone conversation skills
    Ability to lift heavy objects
    Maintain a valid Driver’s License and insurance
    Previous management experience strongly desired and management experience in the building materials industry is a plus
    A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
    Job Type: Full Time
    Salary: $40,000 per year plus bonuses
