    Event Description:
    ASUTR is celebrating Black History month by providing  several events sponsored by the ASUTR Library, SGA and the Office of Community, Equity and Community Affairs. We are excited to have Brain  Rodgers,  the Community Relations Liaison and Historian from the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center in Little Rock come to ASUTR to extend his expertise.  Mr. Rodgers received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees, in History, from the University of Arkansas Little Rock.  His research interest include African American institutions in Arkansas between 1868 and 1920; their influence on the development of the African American communities in Central Arkansas and Emancipation Day celebrations in Arkansas.  Mr. Rodgers is currently researching the rise of the Black middle class in Central Arkansas.
     
    Mr. Rodgers will be presenting the following topic:
     Fried Chicken to Fried Cabbage: A brief History of Soul Food
