Defining Local Exercise and Workshop The hottest trend in food these days is to “eat local”. The trend has gotten so prevalent that even multi-national corporations like Wal-Mart, Starbucks, Sunoco, and Lays have launched campaigns trying to position themselves as the “local” option. In a hyper- competitive and ill-defined marketplace it can be hard to sort through what eating local even means. This workshop is designed to help food businesses define what “local” means in their community so they can effectively build a brand that embraces their local identity (while still setting them up for regional growth), develop a messaging strategy that effectively communicates their values and why local purchasing is important, and lastly helps SBDC’s identify what services or resources their community is in need of. Event is offered at no cost, pre-registration is required.
