The City of Malvern is hiring a full-time Entry-Level Street Department employee to perform routine, physically demanding tasks, including street, stormwater, and shop maintenance. Duties involve operating tools like shovels, rakes, and chainsaws, repairing streets and signs, conducting equipment inspections, mowing, and assisting with trash pickup and must be ready to undertake various assigned duties.
Qualified candidates must possess a valid Arkansas Driver's License and a High School Diploma or equivalent and the ability to pass a drug screen test. The position requires the ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds regularly. Candidates should have basic math skills, the ability to read and understand simple instructions and safety procedures, and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate works well with others and adapts to various weather conditions, as the work is primarily outdoors.
